I regard Pike and Shotte as the logical progression from Warhammer ad s a better and simpler (elegant) set of rules - well, not THAT simple. It plays the unit rather than the figure - no buckets of dice and no figure counting or casualty removal. I used to like all that stuff but prefer the 'whole unit' philosophy these days. The units themselves have the attributes and when they bare eroded, the unit is removed - much less fiddling about.Unlucky Generalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03483184112954794715noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5602923242818158481.post-52137611614318629672022-07-04T09:02:07.051-07:002022-07-04T09:02:07.051-07:00Hello, am new-ish to ECW, but am playtesting Warha...Hello, am new-ish to ECW, but am playtesting Warhammer ECW, trying to get a feel for the rules. Will move on to Pike and Shotte after that. I feel that some parts of the Warhammer rules, especially regarding shooting and melee were unclear, or misinterpreted unless you read the whole chapter. Otherwise it's a fun concept; perhaps the title is out of date but valid nonetheless without getting bogged down in minutes. Anyway, I've painted up 28mm Scots Royalist, Irish, Highland and Covenanter units to set them among the fascinating campaign north of the border. To conclude: any titbits of advice regarding either Warhammer or Warlord P and S will be gratefully received! Cheers!! haggishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12371343884614936471noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5602923242818158481.post-17772817284632602422019-11-01T03:29:08.718-07:002019-11-01T03:29:08.718-07:00Unfortunately Jeremy is right, it does seem like b...Unfortunately Jeremy is right, it does seem like battle lines are being drawn sometimes over here! In my childhood we visited a re-enactment or two, one at Lansdown one the siege of Nunney Castle near Frome. Despite all of this the urge to play ECw period eludes me for some reason.<br />Have immense fun with it!
