Anglo-Allied Peninsular Command: Maj Gen S Von LOWE
Yet another veteran career soldier is Sigismund Gustav Baron Von Lowe. He suffered poor health during his time in Spain and Portugal and he wasn't the only one. I've made my version of Von Lowe a bit of a blunt instrument - an traditional German soldier who just prefers to think less and attack more.
He was raised to Brigadier General on the staff from command of the 7th KGL foot in 1809. In spite of his suffering, Sigismund survived the wars and died back in Hesse in 1846, aged 68. He was only 32 at Busaco so the portrait I managed to adopt for his command card clearly post dates his time in Spain - unless life on campaign was harder than I imagined.
His ADC is from any of the KGL battalions with blue regimental distinctions and is a newly painted Perry Miniature whereas old Von Lowe is an older Old Glory result.
